Welcome to my Triple Crown for Heart fundraising page!
Hi...so...I'm riding up the three North Shore mountains in one day. Why? Honestly, it's because no one else in my family is going to do it. I've been thrown to the wolves by my wife and two daughters. Help!!
Seriously, I'm thrilled to pedal my bike uphill (x3) this Saturday. It's all to raise money for a cause that is so close to my heart. And my eldest daughter's heart. Addison is the youngest person to receive a heart transplant in B.C., and the first infant to receive a heart transplant at BC Children's Hospital. At three weeks old, she was given a second chance at life and we owe it all to our angel donor Audrey and her family, plus the fantastic team at BC Children's Hospital. The cardiac unit (3M in the old hospital) was our second home for longer than I care to remember. The whole time we were there, I knew every person was doing their best to get Addison healthy and home. Addison is now 12 years post-transplant and she continues to be a frequent visitor to the Children's Heart Centre at BCCH. The team ensures her gifted heart continues to beat strongly, and they will keep looking after her until she graduates to adult care.
Now I'm paying it forward. The money we raise helps new families who need the support and care of a specialized cardiac team. Please consider donating.
